Simply Durham Cottages are going solar, leaving no carbon footprint.  The project is expect to be completed by summer 2015.

The Michael J. Quill Irish Cultural & Sports Centre

The Michael J. Quill Irish Cultural & Sports Centre, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) educational non-profit corporation founded in 1987 in the hamlet of East Durham, New York. Its mission is to promote and preserve the cultural and artistic heritage of the Irish and those of Irish descent. We are also active in encouraging and promoting the development of younger artists who will carry their heritage with them into the next century.While dedicated to maintaining the traditional aspects of our past, the Centre will present to the public, a variety of Irish cultural programs, both historic and contemporary, in fine arts, language, literature, theater, music, dance and folk arts.Our Office, “Tir Na Nog”, is located on Route 145 just before the entrance to the Festival Grounds.

We are open from April- October, Monday- Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturdays 9am to 1pm

The Milk Run

Welcome to the Milk Run

Thank you for making us part of your day!!

The Milk Run is a Convenience Store and Truck Stop, gas & diesel 24/7 via credit card, ATM, Ice, Propane, Firewood, Groceries.  Open daily 6 a.m to 9 p.m. for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  We strive to provide a friendly place for friends and family to meet, relax, catch up and make new friends.

We use Boars Head Deli meats and cheeses in our deli, offer homemade salads, pies, lunch and dinner specials and soft serve ice cream is available April through September.

The Milk Run is a convenient stop when you do not want to make that 40 minute round trip visit to the local supermarket.

Only a five minute drive from many local resorts and attractions: Zoom Flume Water Park, K & K Equestrian Center, Supersonic Speedway,  the Annual Irish Festival, Grey Fox Blue Grass Festival, Irish Arts Week, Catskill Mountain Thunder Motorcycle Festival, Gavin’s Guinness Festival and many more.

Perhaps on an early weekend morning or evening you might be lucky enough to witness or better yet assist our local balloonist Storybook Balloons launch his hot air balloon from the field next to the Milk Run.

I. U. Tripp & Co. has antiques and collectibles in this 1888 Victorian general store at 7892 State Route 81 in Oak Hill, New York.  We have been featured in several publications including Country Living Gardener, Country Almanac, Early Homes, and Upstate Homes.

 

For holiday gifts we have local books such as Historic Places in Greene County, Oak Hill:  Voices from an American Hamlet, and Time Wearing Out Memory.  We are members of the Durham New York Chamber of Commerce.  To see their website click here /

Oak Hill is in northern Greene County, New York on the Catskill Creek. It is eight miles west of Greenville on State Route 81, the Main Street of Oak Hill. To find us on Mapquest click here: Map The Tripp store and homestead property was the first of ten sites in Oak Hill to be listed on the State and National registers of Historic Places. It is also on the Greene County Historic Register and is a designated historic landmark of the Town of Durham. Many of our visitors come just to admire the building and we are delighted to have them.
